Nude Self Portrait: Construction Site

The weather is getting warm again and I’m happy to revisit my hobby of taking nude self portraits outdoors. As a creative director, I prefer to do this in places that are somewhat public—I don’t just want to shoot nudes in nature because it’s mundane. But as a model I don’t want to pose nude on a crowded street because I will be too nervous—not to mention I will get arrested.

So finding the right amount of “publicness” is a big deal. It means that I can only shoot in a few carefully selected locations, and I have to drive around for hours to find someplace perfect.

This asphalt mine is the best I've found so far. The landscape is really vast, with stone hills stretching over one square mile. Nothing is more liberating than being completely nude in such wide open space! It’s filled with all sorts of earth-moving machines to pose with.
